The election results for elective District Officers next term

This is to inform you of the results of the election for the elective District Officers held on May 19 at the Annual District Council Meeting in Nagoya.

Let’s congratulate 9 officers below who were elected and will start to work hard for all members of Dist! rict 76 on July 1.

Please do remember to read how each election was held in details below, especially, the first vote for the District Governor’s office was tie and there was the second vote.

In a few weeks, the Incoming District Governor will appoint 33 Area Governors, Secretary, Treasurer and Public Relations Officer. All appointed officers together with all the Division Governors are requested to participate in the installation ceremony and a 4-hour compulsory training to be held on June 23 (Sunday: AM and PM) at Ikegami Kaikan in Tokyo.

District Governor: Elected - TM Kiichiro Ohmi

There were 2 nominated candidates: TM Kiichiro Ohmi and TM Yukiko Shiratori.
There were not any nominations from the floor.
1st vote: Total votes cast: 208
                Needed to elect:105
                TM Ohmi received 104, and TM Shiratori received 104.
                The result was tie. According to rules, we had the second vote.
2nd vote:Total votes cast: 208
                Needed to elect: 105
                TM Ohmi received 106, and TM Shiratori received 102.

Lieutenant Governor Education and Training (LGET): Elected – TM Hisashi Watanabe

As there was no nominated candidate for the LGET office, the presiding officer (DG Kazuko Kawauchi) asked the participants if there were any nominations from the floor. TM Hisashi Watanabe was nominat! ed from the floor and there was not any other nomination. As there was only one candidate for the LGET office and there was no objection, then the presiding officer asked the Secretary to cast one ballot for the candidate.

Lieutenant Governor Marketing (LGM): Elected – TM Kiminari Azuma

There was 1 nominated candidate: TM Kiminari Azuma
There were not any nominations from the floor. As there was only one candidate for the LGM office and there was no objection, then the presiding officer (DG Kazuko Kawauchi) asked the Secretary to cast one ballot for the candidate.

Division A Governor: Elected – TM Yoshinori Yamamoto

There were 2 nominated candidates: TM Kazumasa Umemoto and TM Yoshinori Yamamoto. There were not any nominations from the floor.
Total votes cast: 203
Needed to elect: 102
TM Umemoto received 97 votes and TM Yamamoto received 106 votes.

Division B Governor: Elected – TM Matthew D. Ownby

There were 2 nominated candidates: TM Matthew D. Ownby and TM Ken Sakamoto. There were not any nominations from the floor.
Total votes cast: 204
Needed to elect: 103
TM Ownby received 107 votes, and TM Sakamoto received 97 votes.

Division C Governor: Elected – TM Paul Malone
There was 1 nominated candidate: TM Paul Malone.
T here were not any nominations from the floor. As there was only one candidate for the Division C Governor’s office and there was no objection, then the presiding officer (DG Kazuko Kawauchi) asked the Secretary to cast one ballot for the candidate.

Division D Governor: Elected – TM Hiroyuki Yamaguchi

There was 1 nominated candidate: TM Hiroyuki Yamaguchi.
There were not any nominations from the floor. As there was only one candidate for the Division D Governor’s office and there was no objection, then the presiding officer (DG Kazuko Kawauchi) asked the Secretary to cast one ballot for the candidate.

Division E Governor: Elected – TM Kyoko Kitamura

There was 1 nominated candidate: TM Kyoko Kitamura.
There were not any nominations from the floor. As there was only one candidate for the Division E Governor’s office and there was no objection, then the presiding officer (DG Kazuko Kawauchi) asked the Secretary to cast! one bal lot for the candidate.

Division F Governor: Elected – TM Sumiko Futana

There was 1 nominated candidate: TM Sumiko Futana.
There were not any nominations from the floor. As there was only one candidate for the Division E Governor’s office and there was no objection, then the presiding officer (DG Kazuko Kawauchi) asked the Secretary to cast one ballot for the candidate.
