(1) To call for candidates for district office

* Lieutenant Governor Education and Training

(2) To seek out qualified members
(3) To screen candidates for their eligibility
2. Nominating Schedule
| Month | Activities |
| October | District governor appoints the Chair of Nominating Committee by October 1. |
| November | Remaining members are appointed by November 1. |
| December |
1. Publish a call for candidates in the district newsletter and on the district web site with attachments.

| January | Committee accepts candidates by 31st of January. |
| February – March |
1. Committee interview all known candidates for each elected position. 3. Committee completes the “Candidate Checklist and Evaluation Form” for each candidate. |
| March – April | 1. Committee completes the nomination report 2. Chair reports the committee’s result in writing to District governor at least six weeks prior to District Council. 3. District Governor submits the results in writing to all members of District Council at least four weeks prior to District Council. The results should be put on the district newsletter and/or web site. The notice of meeting must be included. 4. Chair provides District Governor with all “Officer Agreement and Release Form.” 5. After District Council Meeting, District Governor submits all “Officer Agreement and Release Form“ to WHQ by way of e-mail to districts@toastmasters.org. |
| April – May | Chair submit new leader information to WHQ. District Governor assures if “Officer Agreement and Release Form” are submitted correctly. |
3. Nominating Committee Deliberations: Meet all of the requirements
