Fellow Toastmasters,
Did you have a great year in 2009? Do you plan to have an even better one this year? For me it was a turbulent year of changing jobs and changing places. Last year was a year of change, but it was change for the good. Many of you have also taken a chance and made a change as
well. A chance to step up to the plate or as Toastmasters to the lectern and say “Yes I can.” “Yes, I can conquer my fears of speaking in public” Yes, I can turn my speeches from ho-hum into awesome.” And “Yes, In 2010 I can do even better.”
In 2009, We have all experienced many benefits from joining Toastmasters. Some people have gotten more confident in themselves. Some people have used their skills to land a new job in this tough economic climate. And some people have done more than that. When faced with doubt
we, as Toastmasters, said “Yes we can.”
But is that it? Is this great experience something that you should just keep to yourself or just some of your friends at the local club? If in 2009 you said “Yes, I can.” Will you in 2010 say “Yes, you can.” Will you go to a friend who is struggling with a presentation and say “Yes you can!” Will you go to member who is worried bout being the master of ceremonies and say “Yes you can.” Will you go to another member who wishes to expand the gift of Toastmasters and build a new club and say
“Yes, you can.”
For no matter how big or how small the goal is, please don't keep it yourself pass the gift of Toastmasters forward. Make this year not just another year of "Yes, I can. " but “Yes you can.”
Happy New Year!
