Vision for 2009-2010

Vision for 2009-2010 year as District Governor

Minoru Tamura
District Governor

Living in this modern society, we have to try to make a Quality decision every day. I tried to decide in a way which is considered best for now and not necessarily for the future in the nomination. It was the moment of truth to be elected as District Governor of Japan in 2009-2010 and I would like to believe that this would be a quality decision for both District 76 and myself.

I would like to put our 2009-2010 theme as “ Quality Regular Meeting to Enjoy and Grow “ which is considered as a core value of Toastmasters. Toastmasters starts at a regular meeting and if it of a good quality, members like to come regularly and can get a satisfaction, fun and success in his or her goal.

There are three targets to achieve in 2009-2010 for District 76: 1. Set up a strong and good TEAMWORK in which All district officers fulfill each role, especially Division Governors. A Division is considered a mini District and a good size to function efficiently. 2. To cope with the increasing number of Japanese clubs, more JAPANESE manuals should be prepared. It is Japanese for us to be able to express our feeling and idea freely and in satisfaction. 3. To serve needs of members electronically, more LIVELY web site should be created. District web site should be a first choice to be accessed for any Toastmasters issue.

Our District goal and budget will be drafted in August after the officers training in Connecticut. We have to learn before we start to compile. Since I live in Tokushima and have to take care of my aging parents, I think I cannot move as much as I wish and needs your understanding and best support to get Distinguished again in new year. “Quality Regular Meeting to Enjoy and Grow.“
